Society of Sharing offers several different programs to its clients and they are all free of charge.
All our programs are geared to clients who are:
Isolated / homebound seniors.
Adults 18 years and older with disabilities.
Medically stable.
Physically independent with assistive devices and aids.
Clients may be referred by social service agencies in the community, Community care access centres, social workers, health care professionals, friends and family or self-referred. A qualified staff member will schedule a meeting at the potential client’s convenience and complete an assessment.

SOS connects our clients and trained volunteers for the purpose of developing a friendship. Our volunteers provide companionship during a scheduled weekly visit in the home and community of our client. We focus on trying to reduce social isolation amongst our clients by providing emotional support, practical assistance with daily living, and engaging in community outings.
Designed to provide and improve accessible and attainable services to our clients to conduct their medical appointments and grocery shopping excursions with dignity and confidence. Our reliable escorts ensure safety and security while travelling with clients via walking, WheelTrans, public transportation, or taxi service.
SOS organizes and facilitates social gathering for residents of a local community housing building with the intention of introducing, interacting, and building relationships with their neighbours.
SOS is well known for referring its clients, and caregivers and community workers to partner services within its personal health and social services network. These partnerships allow the Agency to extend its services reach.
SOS volunteers check in with our clients through a weekly telephone conversation to ascertain their client’s physical and mental well being, engaging in lively conversation, and providing a sense of security, all while demonstrating kindness and respect
